Anyone can buy a motor, a heater and a screen. Our patents are about what happens between them.

It feels the food.

The blade tells upliance how the chop is going.

How it works

Most choppers run on a timer, so the same onion comes out chunky one day and mushy the next.

upliance watches its own motor instead. Whole pieces make the blade work hard; finely chopped ones barely push back. It reads that effort from the motor's electric current, many times a second, and adjusts the blade speed and run time until the food is just right. An empty jar reads almost flat, so it can tell that too.

Five parts. One brain.

Motor, heater, blade, scale and screen, designed to work as one.

So one jar can:

  • Weigh
  • Chop
  • Stir
  • Knead
  • Cook
How it works

Most kitchen machines are a motor and a timer in a box. Each part does its own job, and none of them talk to each other.

upliance was designed the other way round. The motor and drive, heating coil, blade, weighing scale and touchscreen are placed and wired as one system: the scale knows what went in, the motor knows how hard it is working, the heater knows how hot it is, and the screen decides what happens next.

Heat and stir, in sync.

What takes two hands on a stove, upliance does as one move.

How it works

Good cooking is timing two things at once: how hot the pan is and how you stir. Turn the heat up without stirring and food sticks; stir hard on a low flame and it turns to mush.

upliance changes its blade speed and temperature together, and keeps checking its sensors as it goes, instead of running two separate settings on a timer. Its heater can be adjusted up to 10 times a second, so a gentle simmer stays gentle and a tadka gets its burst.

Recipes that listen.

Ask for less spice or a swap, and upAI rewrites the steps on the spot.

How it works

A printed recipe can't hear you. upliance can. Ask for less spice, swap an ingredient you've run out of, or tap to give a step a couple more minutes.

upAI, the AI inside upliance, works out what your request means for the heat, time and blade speed of each step, and changes the instructions the machine is about to follow, right there on the device.

Invention 05Patent filed · India

A light you read like a flame.

One glance from across the kitchen, and you know what it's doing.

How it works

On a gas stove, one look at the flame tells you how hot the pan is. Electric cookers hide that.

upliance's light ring brings the flame back. It glows brighter as the heat goes up, and changes colour and pattern when it is stirring, chopping, paused or ready, so you can read it from across the room. A gas flame can only ever show you the heat.
